Yuhas & Dancers

SUMMARY

Under the direction of Meredith Yuhas, Yuhas & Dancers works collaboratively to empower young dancers through presenting pre-professional and professional opportunities for dancers of all shapes, sizes and colors. Presenting nostalgic images to serve as a catalyst for discussion, Y&D is motivated by the world’s unbalance of power and has chosen to petition for genuine compassion in the face of adversity. The company moves as advocates of equality and honest conversation, believing that our greatest strength is found in our shared vulnerability. Y&D made their debut at the Asheville Fringe Festival January 2018, winning Festival Fan Favorite now two years in a row.

 

Objective

Capture creative movements in routine and improvisation through the lens of motion picture. These creative performances are conceptualized through social and economic catalysts in our modern society. These art developments bring creativity and conversation together, creating safe spaces for viewers to express their perceptions.
